Equal Rights, Equal Oppurtunity

Equal rights, when all people have the same rights. Equal opportunity arises from the similar treatment of all people, unhampered by artificial barriers or prejudices or preferences, except when particular distinctions can be explicitly justified. In this generation, are the men, women and the LGBTQ community are all receiving the rights and oppurtunities that they deserve to have? Are all the people in the society are given equal rights and oppurtunities? Are they receiving the treatment that they should receive?

In this generation, men and women have now the same rights and have given many oppurtunities that a man and a woman should have. All the people in the society have the right and have the chance to try the different oppurtunities that will come. Many people will do everything just to fight what they think they have the right. But some were still abused and tricked because they just let them treat them that way because they are afraid to fight eventhough they think that they are right and have the right. They should guve equal rights and equal oppurtunity for all the people in the society.

We cannot deny the fact that there is still a gender biase in the society that's why we need to know when will we fight for our rights and for the oppurtunities that it can be for us. We should love and value every individual by giving the right treatment to all.

The Real Essence of Christmas

Christmas is a season wherein people are giving and receiving gifts. Christmas is celebrated to commemorate the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ. It is an important event for us Catholics because in this day we will honor and remember the day of Jesus Christ. But what is really the true or real essence of Christmas? It is just all about gifts?

Christmas is a very important event that comes once in a year. Christmas is the season of joy, peace and great tidings. At Christmas, we are expected to spare time to contemplate on things eternal.  So, we should know the true essence of Christmas. Christmas is not just all about giving or receiving gifts. Christmas is all about love and forgiveness. Instead of giving many and expensive gifts this coming Christmas why don't we just simply express and make them feel that they are being loved and appreciated. We should also forgive the people who have done something wrong to us and we should also ask for forgiveness for the people we have done something wrong. Giving and sharing what we have and having a great bond with our loved ones are the best and happiest thing to do during Christmas. These are the real essence of Christmas.

Christmas means a spirit of love, a time when the love of God and the love of our fellow men should prevail over all hatred and bitterness, a time when our thoughts and deeds and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God. The true spirit of Christmas is in our hearts. We should love and forgive one another in order for us to live happily and peacefully.

Isulong: Tamang pag-aaruga para sa lahat ng bata

In celebrating the Children’s Month for this year with the theme “Isulong: Tamang pag-aaruga para sa lahat ng bata” intends to remind the adults or parents to take good care of their children and they should let their children enjoy their life and have fun while they are still young. Parents have responsibilities in taking care and giving the needs of their children. Children should be treated nicely and should be supported in terms of their needs in order for them to grow properly and healthy.

In this generation, some children are obliged to work in order for them to live and the main reason why they are working at an early age is because of the major problem of our country, the poverty. Parents should do all the work for them to support their basic needs and should not let their children work for them. Children should be send to school in order for them to learn things that all children should know. Adults should take care of them, love them, teach them on how to be responsible and the most important thing that a child should know is the word of God because once a child is close to God he/she will surely live a better and peaceful life.

Dr. Jose Rizal, our National Hero said “Ang mga kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan”. Children should enjoy their life and have fun while they are still young. They should not  block the things that can make them happy because they have the right to play or to study. We should take care of them and not abuse them because like what our national hero said that the children are the ones who will save our country from falling.

Pagbasa: Susi sa Magandang Kinabukasan

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Since we enter school we were taught how to read, write, count and many other things that a student should learn and know. Reading is such an important thing that a person should practice and develop.

Through reading educational books, novels and different kinds of stories nourishes our brain. Reading can help and improve the brain function in different levels. Reading also serve as an entertainment, can reduce stress, can improve memory, have a strong analytical thinking skills, can improve concentration and focus and have a better writing skills. In reading, you will encounter different and difficult words that will be added on your vocabulary and you will gain more knowledge that will help you in the near future. If you know how to read and understand what you are reading, you will have a bright future. It is better to read books than to use your gadgets in playing games, surfing or doing unimportant things in killing your time.

Make reading a habit because this will be the start of your battle. You need to learn how to read first, for you to understand how life works. Reading can help us in fulfilling and reaching our dreams. Start reading now before it’s too late.

Reflection 2

Our second quarter lesson in ICT excites me because I want to learn more about the internet access, about the HTML (Hypertext Mark-up Language) and the Mark-up Tags.

I learned how to use the different tags. It gave me more ideas and I discovered a lot. It is better to have knowledge in this field because this can help us in the future. I have some knowledge about the internet access but in our lesson this quarter my knowledge about it  became broad. I encountered different problems and challenges in typing the different tags but I learned how to do it eventually. I will address these challenges by giving more efforts and attention in knowing the different tags so that I can easily do it.

Moving on, I will use the lessons that we have learned not only for the sake of passing in our periodical   test but for this also for a daily lifetime basis. These lessons will not  just be memorized to have an answers to our quizzes but to be used for life purposes.

“Gurong Pilipino: Turo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko.”

My teachers are my heroes! I am very grateful to all my teachers who have done a very important role in my life. My teachers are the one who molded on how I am today. I will be forever indebted to all of my teachers because I am nothing if I don’t have them in my life.

When I’m in school they served as our loving parents. They treated us as their true sons and daughters. They taught us how to write, draw, recite and many more. They showed us on how to become a good student and instilled us discipline, to motivate us and to value education. Your kindness and strictness will be our guide to surpass all the unavoidable trials that will come on our way. When we remember you, we know that we will be able to pursue our goals in our life because we know that you only want what’s best for us and to become a better person someday.

Teacher, thank you very much to all of you because we will surely have a bright tomorrow. Your patience and kindness to us, your students will always be remembered and treasured.

“Accelerating global actions for a world without poverty.”

The United Nations Month is held throughout the month of October to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter. This year, we celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the United Nations. “Accelerating global actions for a world without poverty.” We celebrate the United Nations Day in order to honor the interstate organization in promoting human rights, social progress and world peace.

Every nation should find ways to eradicate poverty. Instead of giving dole out, the government should provide work to motivate them the value of independency. We are all aware that most of the so called poverty-stricken people were used to depend and rely to the government without stretching their bones to earn for a living. The government should think of a way to help them by giving them work, instead of giving them financial support, so that they will not become lazy and dependent to others because they need to learn how to stand on their own. As long as they have a chance to work they should immediately grab it.

Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is not always about seeking for someone’s help, but it is about how you seek solutions to improve your own life. Industrious people can escape poverty.

“WAVEFRONT: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancements.”

The National Science Month is celebrated every September and the theme for this year’s celebration is “WAVEFRONT: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancements.” This theme intends to make the students with potential prominent and noticeable that’s why they should improve and activate their technological abilities.

Nowadays, students are leading in using technologies that they are more knowledgeable and advance than the old ones. They have the potential in many aspects that’s why the old ones should mold, guide and help them in improving their capabilities that can help them in the future. While they are still young, motivate them to strive harder and do the things that they are capable to do and teach them things that will push them to the right path. Inform them that if they continuously use technologies, their dreams will be destroyed and even their health is affected if they keep using these technologies for useless, unimportant and trivial things but using technologies isn’t that bad as long as they use it properly, for educational purposes and they should also know their limitations.

They observed that many students have the potential in their chosen field of interest. That they have the ability to get the field they cling to. Inculcate with them the importance of developing their potential and adapt technological advancement appropriately to pursue their dreams.

Filipino Resiliency

Image result for disaster resilience

Disaster resilience is the ability of individuals, communities, organizations and states to adapt to, and recover from hazards, shocks or stresses without compromising long-term prospects for development. Resilience is the ability to anticipate risk, limit impact, and bounce back rapidly through survival, adaptability, evolution, and growth in the face of turbulent change. Resilient communities minimize any disaster's disruption to everyday life and their local economies.

Our country is prone to many disasters thus many structures were destroyed and many people were injured and killed because of these disasters. Our country has a difficulty in recovering immediately after these disasters and most of the Filipinos depend and rely their needs on the government and and this is the so called Top Down Approach wherein the government are the only one planning and working on how to recover fast from a disaster. That's why our country is slow and left behind when it comes in recovering from a disaster because many people are depending, relying and waiting on them even if they can stand on their own. This is one of the problem why our country has a difficulty in recovering fast because the people were always relying on the government. What if we'll change our habit and do the Bottom Up Approach wherein we are joining and helping in planning on how we will solve these problems and we can also share some possible solutions. Our country will immediately recover if we Filipino are helping one another, supporting the government and we should not always rely on them if we think that we can do it without their help to lessen their thoughts and problems and that they can give attention and can help on those people who are less fortunate or those who have disabilities and can't support their needs.

Helping and planning together should be possessed to make the country recover immediate from a disaster and can surpass all the challenges that the country is facing.

1.
Embedded journalism refers to news reporters being attached to military units involved in armed conflicts. While the term could be applied to many historical interactions between journalists and military personnel, it first came to be used in the media coverage of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The United States military responded to pressure from the country's news media who were disappointed by the level of access granted during the 1991 Gulf War and the 2001 U.S. invasion of Afghanistan.

Reflection

Our first quarter lesson in ICT excites me because I want to know more about the internet, it’s history, internet architects, Philippine Internet Pioneers, Software Pioneers and blogs.

I learned and discovered the people behind the making of internet and when did they developed it and where did it came from. It gave me more ideas on how did they invent and made it. It is better if we know when did the internet started because this is very helpful and useful for us students in doing our assignments and projects and it also helps the workers. I also learned those internet architects, Philippine Internet Pioneers and Software Pioneer who contributed in the making of the internet. I learned a lot about the internet. I also learned and discovered what blog is. My knowledge about the blogs was added and became broad. I encountered different problems and challenges in memorizing and knowing the dates because there were so many of it and it was hard to know all the dates and happenings. I will address these challenges by giving more efforts and attention in knowing all the happenings and events about the internet.

Moving on, I will use such lessons learned not just as prepartion for examinations but for a daily life basis. These lessons will not just be memorized just to answer questions on tests but also be used for life purposes.

Human Rights vs. Human Lives

Image result for state of the nation address duterte 2018

In the 3rd State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, he discussed many things but he highlighted the issue about the drug-related killings. That his concern is human lives not the human rights because the lives of the youths are being wasted and many families are being destroyed because of the chemicals called shabu, cocaine, cannabis and heroin.

I got the point of President Duterte that human lives are more important than the human rights that is protecting the criminals who killed and can kill more innocent people. It is just right to give a formidable punishment to the criminals who killed and done unlawful and inhumanly doings to their victims. Why are we going to spare the criminal's life if they mercilessly and ruthlessly killed or took someone's life? A person who is addicted on drugs cannot think right anymore because their mind was been destroyed by the chemicals that they were taking. That's why they kill and harass innocent people because they can't think right because of the illegal drugs that they were taking. Those people who are using drugs are the main source of crimes in our country that's why many innocent people were involved and got killed because of their doings. The drug traffickers should realize that taking those drugs aren't helpful and it can only lead many problems and complications in our country. They should be penalized or sentenced with a life imprisonment because it is their fault why they were punished, they knew that it was harmful and it has many bad effects but they still continue to take it. They should know the importance of everyone's life.

Those drug traffickers should stop using illegal drugs and should change their lives because many lives are being wasted and destroyed. We only live once so we better do only the right things, and we should respect and value everyone's life.

Nutrition Month 2018: "Ugaliing magtanim, Sapat na nutrisyon aanihin"

Related image
The national nutrition month is celebrated every July and according to the National Nutrition Council, the theme for this year's celebration is "Ugaliing magtanim, Sapat na nutrisyon aanihin" This theme intends to persuade Filipino families in planting fruits and vegetables together in order to keep their body healthy and to remind them the importance of planting or food gardening.

Nowadays, people thought that planting is just a simple thing to do but the truth is that this simple  thing is very hard to reach that some can't even plant fruits and vegetables in their own backyard. Our body will be strong and healthy if we are planting fruits and vegetables that we can eat than buying fruits and vegetables that have preservatives and chemicals that are added on it in order for them to preserve its freshness so that they can sell it in a more expensive price. We should start encouraging our family and fellow students to start planting different kinds of nutritious foods that contains vitamins and minerals because not only the farmers have the ability to plant, all of us can plant only if we want to because there's nothing wrong in planting but it is very helpful in maintaining our body strong and healthy and it can also help in lessening the pollution that can cause different diseases and can harm our body. It is healthy and delicious to eat fruits and veggies that you and your family planted because you knew and you are sure that it is safe because it is planted with natural fertilizers and it is freshly harvested without preservatives and any other chemicals that might destroy your health. Food gardening is very helpful and useful for us and for our family because we can safely eat it or we can sell it for additional income that our family can use.

If we start planting now, today's generation and also the  next generations will be benefited and they can continue what we've started so that they can live healthy. So let's start now in order for us to live a happy and healthy life.

War against Drugs

HIS EXCELLENCY
RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE
President - Republic of the Philippines
MalacaƱang Palace, Manila

Dear Mr. President,

Related imageImage result for president rodrigo duterteI would like to congratulate and express my gratitude for leading our country. I am very glad and thankful for your immediate action in suppressing the drug lords, drug pushers and drug users in our country but the problem is that many innocent people got involved in the operation against drugs. You kept your words when you're still campaigning for the position of Presidency that you will vanish all those who are involved in illegal drugs because they are the source of crimes in our country. They cause many cases like killing, murdering, harassing, raping, stealing and many unlawful doings. These cases were lessen when when they started the war against drugs. Many drug traffickers were arrested and some of them were killed because they attempted to exchange bullets to the police that's why many innocent people were involved and got killed because of what those drug traffickers have done. Our fears were lessen because the number of drug traffickers are dropping because of the active and continuous operation of the Philippine National Police and other government agencies. There are many complaints and rants about your vulgarity and how you lead our country but I respect your own opinions because I know that we have different beliefs and I know that you just want what's best for our country. We thank you for securing our safety by clearing those drug traffickers. Our country is slowly developing and growing because  of your great leadership.

I hope that you will continue what you've started and that you'll accomplish all your projects until you term is done to make our country peaceful, drug free and safe to live in.

Respectfully yours,
Mija Kirsten C. Rimay

Loose of Grip, Grief of Lose

Independence Day is a national holiday in the Philippines. It is celebrated every 12th of June. When our ancestors were colonized by the powerful countries, they thought many ways on how to free our country from them in order to save the next generations from their harmful hands and to let them feel or experience freedom in our own country. We owe the freedom that we are experiencing today to our brave ancestors who contributed and fought the colonizers in order to claim what is ours. So, what are we going to do in order to preserve the memories that our ancestors left?

Nowadays, many Filipino youths are neglecting and ignoring the sacrifices of our ancestors who are willing to sacrifice their lives in fighting for our rights in having our country freely. Some also doesn't know what happened during the time when we are colonized and who are our ancestors who are brave enough to lead and convince them to fight in order to end their suffering from the hands of the colonizers. They are fond of using gadgets and social media that they ignored or forgot to give attention about the history of our country or how did our country freed because maybe they find all of these not interesting or boring. It is important for us to know the happenings during the time when our country was still colonized. We should always remember, give importance and celebrate the Independence Day in order to give respect and honor to our heroes who sacrificed and fought for our freedom. What they've done was a big thing for our country, if not for them maybe we are still under the hands of the merciless colonizers.

It is very important to remember the time when our country was free from the colonizers. We should treasure it because our ancestors suffered a lot in order for us to have freedom in our own country. Therefore, we, the youths should start appreciating and knowing all about the contributions of our fearless heroes against the powerful colonizers. We should do it now because according to our national hero, we, the youth are the hope of our country.
