New Year, New Me

New year is the time at which we will remember what happened in the past so that we will know what to do, on how we will improve and develop our flaws, but the wisdom that the past brought us with will still stay and always be treasured and it will serve as our guide to our journey. New Year also represents hope.

Every time New Year will come, we all have this New Year's Resolution in which we want to change our old self for the better, avoid the things that isn't good for us, we want to face our fears bravely, and make a goal. People sees this day like a new beginning despite the many circumstances that hinders us or blocked us in reaching our goals, that we can change our old lifestyle for the better. That we will face the New Year without fear and hesitations.

It is better to welcome the New Year with new me, with the better version of myself. We can all grab this chance or opportunity to change ourselves for the better and bravely face our fears and problems. No one is perfect, all of us have flaws, differences and problems but despite of these imperfections, we can at least make a change and develop these imperfections of ours.

Kannawidan Festival

Kannawidan is a tradition or heritage in Ilocano. The festival is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the province, as well as a tribute to its outstanding citizens. This festival starts at the end of January to celebrate the best of Ilocos Sur Culture.

It's good that we have this kind of festival here in our province, Ilocos Sur wherein the Ilocanos were given the chance to showcase their talents and skills. As they are participating in the different contests, their skills were developed and it boost their self-confidence. In this celebration, the traditional dress and folk dance to tribal rituals are also shown. There are many things, skills and talents that we, Ilocanos have that we should showcase and be proud of.

I know and I'm sure that Ilocanos are talented. That's why I'm proud that I'm an Ilocano. We should embrace and treasure our culture so that the future generations will still see and experience the beauty of our province, Ilocos Sur.

Change: Starts with Me

Change is the only permanent thing in this world. You can either change for the better or change for the worst. Probably, you’ll be thinking what will happen if something or someone changed without you knowing or noticing.

Truth is, there’s always a change happening in our lives that we don’t notice and we’ll just found out that everything has changed and we can’t do anything about it but to just live with it and accept it. That’s why we should change our bad habits now and start doing good things that will help and benefit yourself and others because you can't turn back time and once something has changed without you doing anything about it will surely haunt you and make you question yourself many what ifs. It's better to change for the better now and do the right things than to regret the things that you didn't do.

For you to help other people change for the better, you need to do it first to yourself, you should change the things that you think isn't good for you and can ruin you as a person. If everyone will change for the better then we will surely have a beautiful and peaceful life.
